The Northbanksy Story (so far)

The Short Version

Northbanksy is the nickname of an anonymous street artist from north London who started Arsenal related work in 2019. Initially protest slogans designed to galvanise supporters against KSE’s absentee ownership model, the putative Super League and in opposition to a certain a Youtube TV channel whose business model encouraged fan discord and player abuse. He got the nickname “Norhtbanksy” after a video of him being arrested for writing “Kroenke Out” in large letters on a wall by Emirates Stadium went viral in November 2019.

Following this Northbansky decided to take a more considered, positive, supportive and creative approach and started making Banksy-style monochrome art work. The first was a tribute to a recently departed fan and blogger called Dave Faber - better known as “The Goonerholic” - renowned for his welcoming and inclusive approach to Arsenal fans from all over the world — and the second was a portrait of David Rocastle… It was well received by locals and online — and the whole project kind of all grew from there.
